So I am going to another small 40k tournament and finally decided to bring my beloved Orks that had been waiting for it for a long time! One of the things I am taking in my army is count-as Vengeance Weapon battery (with a battlecannon of course to add more boom! to my list). I dodn’t like the look of GW one and few weeks ago i have seen our local Ork player with a weapon battery made off abandoned Leman Russ tank. I decided to loot his idea like any good Ork kommanda would and put some bits together to create my own take on it. Used converted hull of chimera that I had off my mate , battlewagon turret with a killkannon, some sandbags, few other bits, covered the base with polyfilla and added Kromlech ork tank commander at the end. Tomorrow I will paint it, in the meantime however you can look at my work in progress 🙂

So few weeks ago there was a super heavy 40k tournament, type of event that I absolutely love as it gives me a chance to do some conversions and painting for my Orks. This year I went with armoured company theme for them and since I wanted to use my FW grot mega-tank, I needed grot tank mob as well. Using my ork bits box for that purpose I managed to put together 5 little tanks, including one driven by Kaptin (rerolls for the random move distance are helpful plus he gets to choose two weapons, so extra rokkit comes in handy). They were great in the tournament, as most of the time they got ignored due to more dangerous targets being on the board and this way they managed to kill fair bit of stuff.
Painting is only basic, so not finished yet by all means, but you get the idea :
Grot mega-tank is coming together nicely. It took quite a lot of prep work as Forgeworld stuff is quite infamous for large blocks of resin you have to chop off and there was a lot of filing and cutting to do before parts were ready to be washed and then assembled.
Apart from that gripe though cast is really good in most places, only couple of spots had excess resin that had to be removed with some difficulty due to where it was. Level of detail on the model is really nice. Individual parts don’t always fit together very nicely, which is not a problem on an ork vehicle, but can be an issue if you have for example eldar models. All in all I love it though. There were two parts missing from the kit, so I had to ring FW customer service. Luckily they are arranging shimpment of replacement parts, so I will be able to proceed soon and start magnetising all turrets and weapons. I wish it cam with bit more bits to arm it and to do a set up I want for the tournament I will have to improvise a little bit, but still as I said before, great model.
I know I haven’t updated Mighty miniatures for a long time- been busy with a lot of things, but now 40k Super Heavy tournament is coming up and I am preparing my Armoured Krumpany 😉 I got this beautiful Forgeworld Grot Megatank for Christmas from my brother and this tournament is a perfect opportunity to use it. This is the picture of all bits before washing and assembly:
Since Aegis defence lines are really useful tool in new edition of 40k of course I decided it will be a great opportunity to build my own, ork version of it as playing Blood Axes it would certainly suit my warboss to notice how good they are when used by ‘umies and wanting one for his boyz 🙂 Here’s the result before proper painting:
Tzeentch demon prince is my another project for chaos space marines as I am going to be using him in upcoming doubles tournament in December. Possibly not the greatest choice in game, but still pretty decent and also obviously great converting opportunity. I had main plastic body plus some bits so I decided to see what will come out of this. This is the result so far:
